In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Annie the beloved wife of Frederick Rowlinson of Wharton who passed away 19th October, 1943 age 46 years. The Lord is my Shepherd. The funeral was held recently for the late Joan Lath who died on 30th December 2005 aged 83 years. Joan was born in Winsford, the only child of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Rowlinson (nee Newall). She grew up in Winsford and went to school there. Joan married Harry Lath of Sheffield at Bethesda Chapel, Winsford in 1946, they settled in Northwich, retiring to Cuddington. Joan was widowed in 1992. On leaving school aged 14, Joan went to work at Lilyworks, sewing clothes. Later during the war she was a Civil Nursing Reserve at Arclid, near Winsford, then at Wright-Kingsford Home for Children in Finchley, London. Joan enjoyed making clothes, needlework and knitting. She is survived by sons Stephen, Philip and Jeremy, daughter in law Liz and granddaughter Melanie. The service was held at Northwich Methodist Church and was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium, conducted by Rev David Goodwin. As well as family floral tributes, donations were received for National Childrenâ€s Homes

PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH, STATION ROAD, WINSFORD, CHESHIRE - SOUVENIR, DECEMBER 1923. Page 11. CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR - This branch of the Church was formed in the year 1899 by the Rev. D. T. Mann, who was then travelling on our Circuit, and much could be said of the good work done for God both in the past and the present, and quite a large number of our young people may be seen at the weekly gathering, Rev. D. T. Mann was elected the first President and the late Mr. Harold Robinson its first Secretary, who served in that office until his removal to Gateshead owing to his employment being in that district. For some time Mr. Nathan Robinson was President and Miss Clara Ledward, Secretary. Miss Ledward made a very good Secretary until her marriage and removal to Hyde. In October 1920 the Rev. D. T. Mann preached the 21st Anniversary Services of this Society and was well received. Present Officers: President - Rev. E. A. Steen; Vice-Presidents - Messrs. Moses Pickstock, N. Robinson, Mrs. Lycett, Misses Isabella Pimlett, Mary P. Newall and Emily Newall; Secretary - Miss Delia Perry; Assistant Secretary - Miss Elizabeth Gillett.
