On the LDS site on the Internet, there is an entry:
Charles Sproston christened on the 7th September 1783 at Middlewich, Cheshire. Parent: Mary Sproston. Batch No. C089951.

In the Parish Registers for the St. Michael and All Saints Church Middlewich there is an entry: John, son of Charles and Sarah Sproston of Newton was christened, June 12th, 1814. Charles was a Gardener and George Leigh was the curate.

In the St. Michael & All Saints, Middlewich Parish Register of Baptisms, there is an entry:
Elizabeth, daughter of John and Jane Sproston, Newton, Gardener, was christened on the 22nd November 1837. R. W. D? was the Vicar.
Martha, daughter of John and Jane Sproston, Newton, Labourer, was christened on the 27th January 1840. C. on? Pratt was the Vicar.
Peter, son of John and Jane Sproston, Newton, Gardener, was christened on the 29th March 1843. Isaac Wood, Curate.
(This could be John and his wife but a marriage needs to be checked).

In the 1841 census Charles was 55 years old and he lived at Wheelock Street, Newton, Middlewich, Cheshire. It was stated that he was born in the county and he was a Gardener. Also at the address were his wife and children and also Ann Sproston who was 1 year old and she was also born in the county. I don't know if she was the child of Charles, or of one of the daughters.
