PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH, STATION ROAD, WINSFORD, CHESHIRE - SOUVENIR, DECEMBER 1923. Page 10. Our Church was registered for Marriages in the year 1897; the first couple to be married being Mr. Charles S. Newall and Miss Annie Goulding. Minister - Rev. Wm. Albert.
Page 7. Our source of music prior to this period was an Harmonium played for many years by Mr. Thomas Hickson of Wharton with great credit to the officials; afterwards Mrs. C. S. Newall was appointed ( whose maiden name was Annie Goulding ) youngest daughter of the aforesaid Thos. Goulding. She was appointed to this post at the age of 17 years and creditably performed this duty for about 12 years. By this time the Trustees decided to have a Pipe Organ installed at the recommendation of the Rev. F. W. Henshall the then travelling minister in this Circuit. Messrs. Steele & Keay of Burslem were instructed to install a two manuel Organ at a cost of £250, towards which Andrew Carnegie, Esq., J.P., subscribed £150 and Mrs. Mary Burgess gave £50.
